My name is Segun Ayinla Victor although I’m popularly known by the stage name, DaBoomsha. I am a man of many parts. I rap, sing, write, act and speak…lol…basically I have the gift of gab.
Born in the troubled city of Kaduna in the 80’s, I grew up in a house filled with music and laughter. My childhood exposed me to a variety of musical influences, ranging from the likes of Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Ayinla Omo Wura, Junior & Pretty, Tribesmen to foreign acts like KRS One, Nas, Talib Kweli, Jay-Z, Common, Soul 4 Real, Maxwell, D’Angelo and Anita Baker.
From miming songs by The Fugees and 2Pac back in the days to penning my own rhymes and kick-starting a music career under the name of “Rapsodee”, I gradually evolved as a performing and recording artiste. My personal encounter with Jesus Christ in the year 2000 took my music along a path not travelled by many. Since then, I have never looked back and have continued to prove my mettle as a representative of God’s Kingdom in the HipHop Culture.
By God’s Grace, I have been able to influence an entire generation of Christian rappers with my discography spanning over a decade, hence attaining legendary status as a hiphop luminary.
My literary and musical works collectively known as “The Boomsha Kreatives” deal with contemporary issues and promote a worldview that is Christocentric and a true reflection of my faith.
I am also the creative director at Boomsha Kreative, a consulting firm that provides support services for entrepreneurs and people in show business.
I am happily married with kids and currently reside in Lagos, Nigeria.
Thank you for stopping by my website and I look forward to more visits from you.
